Gosh we are finally thawing out here and thank goodness! 22 below zero for so long. Its a slow melt with the snow which is great so everything doesnt get so muckie. Sure am enjoying it while it lasts. I do realize winter is not over but anger management classes seem to work for mother nature. All the animals are doing really well and they even are getting back into their groove. Sure is nice to see them all enjoying again for now. YEA!!!!!

Buttercup decided to have another heat cycle New Years day so she was rebred to Choco. You just never know with these guys!!!! Its ok as now Summer Brie will have more time to learn to be milked before Buttercup is added to the milking.

Summer Brie and Buttercup are now bred for mid May deliveries. Summer Brie was bred to Maestro and Buttercup was bred to Choco Mint. They are both little beauties. We ended up with unbelievable snow here so Buttercup was bred in the nick of time. Trying to move goats around in heavy snow can be a bit challenging as poor Choco is white . Ha Ha. Maestro is the easiest as he knows right where to go but has to wait for me to get there to let him in. Its good as he learns patience ha ha.
Hopefully old man winter will calm down a bit now and give us a chance to dig out!
We are wishing all of you a very happy holliday season.

Yuk we sure are getting hit with all the white stuff. That's ok as it is all part of it. Summer Brie was bred on Dec. 14, 2012 so she should be delivering mid May. She is a first freshner and I think she will do very well and am anxious to see how the milking will go with her. She is such a delite that I dont think she will give me a lot of trouble. She was bred to Maestro, our sweetest buck and as always he has the patience of a saint. Yes a bit of bragging about him and he is a very special boy.
Next one will be Buttercup to Choco Mint. She is my clown girl and she will also be a first freshner.
All veteren girls will be taking this year off. They have earned a vacation. ha ha!
Will keep you posted on Buttercup.

We lost Kahlua yesterday due to being a senior senior citizen. He made it to 23 yrs old. He will leave a hole in our hearts for a very long time. Katey , his sheep that he guarded has turned to Annie Bugs. Katey is an old girl to and she is grieving very much. It sure is hard that they get old at what seems to be way to fast. We love you Kahlua and we will miss you very much!

This week has been a monster week. 5 days ago we lost Sassy, our 15 year old black lab. At the same time one of our horses became very ill with some type of infection. The vet work diligently on him and felt he would be well on his way to recovery but sadly he was passed away the day before Thanksgiving. Both Sassy and Dooley have left a huge hole in our hearts and will be sadly missed.
