The ladies are doing well

Well  we are getting closer to May for the beginning of the deliveries and the excitement is building. Nike is first up and she is looking like she is housing a whole football team. YIKES!!! Peaches is maintaining her little figure and sure looks for the extra attention. Ali-Oop is still maintaining her position as herd queen but ignoring things that aren't worth the hassle. They are all doing well and what a time of anticipation.

Lots of things happening around here. I sold 2 goats this last summer and that was Fancy Peaches ( lil doe) and Scrapper ( lil wether). Their new mom is moving and can not take them with her. They are now back home and getting adjusted. I also took Dilila and she will remain a pet! I will be posting soon their photo's as they are really little cuties!

Welcome home little ones and we are so happy they are here!

Ali-Oop is now bred

Yesterday, January 11, 2012 Ali-Oop was bred to Maestro. They make such a wonderful pair. She loves to walk up to him and lower her head and have his beard drape across her. The little ones these two produce are absolutely amazing. This will be Ali-Oops last time of breeding as she will retire. Don't worry she will stay with the herd and remain herd queen. This little doe is one of the best things that ever happened to us. All went well for the two of them yesterday. Last year we retained Ali and Maestro's daughter Bunny. She is an awesome little doe and so much like her mother in personality. She is a real treat and she will be breeding next year.Yea!

Here we are again at the breeding time. All repairs and hussling to get the hay in and all the training has finally been finished. The bucks are in full swing to be bred and can hardly wait as you can imagine. We will be breeding in Dec. as to insure May or beginning of June babies. We like it to be warmer for our ladies and not to mention me. This really gives us something to look forward to as the winters here are very harsh. Gosh I am already getting excited and we havent even bred yet! Ha Ha! Will keep you up to speed on the blessed events!

Nike is feeling fine now and is as silly as she ever was. She is milking wonderfully and she sure is a real hoot on the milk stand. She has her schedule down to a science and is always on time and ready to go. Having a doe like her is a real pleasure!
